CamTrax is an amazingly powerful tool for cam designers. Instead of developing a cam profile then analyzing to verify requirements are met, this powerful tool thinks as a designer does, developing the profile from the inputs given by the user. A wide range of parameters can be used as inputs to develop cams, such as displacement, velocity, acceleration, pressure angle, cam shaft torque, radius of curvature, contact stress and normal force. The user can also select which type of cam is required from a list of standard cam types (cylindrical cams, plate (aka disk) cams and linear cams), and even the type of follower (on center translating, off center translating, swinging arm and flat-faced reciprocating). CamTrax™ generates charts from the user input and when linked with Excel the profile can be listed on a drawing.
For true design environments, there is simply no easier or faster way to develop a cam available anywhere! (http://www.camnetics.com/camtrax/index.htm)
