What sets the CSWP Program apart?

To date, the CSWP Program is the only comprehensive certification program to address the mainstream 3D mechanical design market. The SolidWorks program uses both objective questions and a hands-on approach to evaluate your knowledge of SolidWorks software as well as your skill in capturing design intent. Using these two testing methods together provides a better indication of your knowledge and abilities.

Proper training in SolidWorks can give you a distinct advantage. The SolidWorks training program is design to expose you to as many aspects of SolidWorks as possible. The knowledge gained through training can provide you with a strong founndation and prepare you for testing.

What does the certification test include?

The CSWP exam is an all-day event that consist of a general knowledge exam and a performance-based modeling test. The general knowledge exam includes multiple choice, true/false, matching, and fill-in-the-blank questions. The performance-based portion of the test consists of two parts:

1. SolidWorks Basic Skills: Create and edit basic models, build assemblies, and create drawings. Demonstrate mastery of feature creation, and diagnosis and repair of models.

2. SolidWorks Advanced Topic: Choose one advanced topic and demonstrate your ability to use SolidWorks to handle advanced tasks. Some examples of advanced topics include sheel metal, mold creation, and free-form shapes.

What is a passing grade and how is the certification test weighted?

You must receive a score of at least 80% to pass the certification test. The test is weighted in the following manner:

Written Exam - 20%
Basic Skills - 60 %
Advanced Topic - 20%

What will I receive after passing the CSWP Program?

You will receive a "Certified SolidWorks Professional" certificate, which is suitable for framing. In addition, you will receive a CSWP logo to use for marketing your skills more effectively. SolidWorks Corporation will also add your name to a web-based directory of Certified SolidWorks Professionals, which serves as a reference to instantly establish your credentials.

What happens if I fail?

If you fail the exam, SolidWorks will notify you and provide you with an evaluation, which will highlight problematic areas that require additional attention. In addition, you can take the exam again as many times as needed. Simply reregister and pay for the next exam.
