This course will educate you on the setup and administration of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM. You will learn fundamentals skills and concepts central to the successful implementation and use of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM. |
Prerequisites: |
Attended SolidWorks File Management Advanced Skill Building Session Knowledge of, or experience with Microsoft Windows operating system. |
Course Outline : Day 1 |
- Installation Planning
Fundamentals of the Planning Process
Charting of the Data Management Plan to include workflows, users and groups, revision schemes and project structure
Introduction to installation process where trainees will learn to setup SWL Servers, databases, Enterprise PDM clients, and workflows
- The Administration Tool
Introduction to Enterprise PDM administration tool where trainees learn to use the Administration Tool to setup local configurations and group policies
Creation of an Enterprise PDM file vault and sharing the vault
- Setup of Users and Groups
Creation and management of both new users, groups and their permissions via profile cards and passwords
- Creation of Variables, Serial Numbers and Lists
Learn to create data cards with variables and serial numbers

Course Outline : Day 2 |
- Creation of Templates
Learn to use tools such as template wizard, template manager and template variables to further control files in SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
- Creation of Categories, Revision Numbers and Data Import & Export
Introduction to workflows
Importing and exporting ERP data
- Workflow
Opening of existing workflows and creating new workflows with transition conditions and transition actions
- Column and Bill of Materials (BOM) Views
Creation of columns used in Bill of Materials and Windows Explorer
- File Types and Settings
Introduction to various other file types and user settings
