Course Description:

This course will educate you on the overview of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM coupled with SolidWorks. You will gain knowledge of tools to correctly locate documents, drawing and graphics files, edit those files and move a file through associated workflows.

Prerequisites:

Basic experience with SolidWorks software.
Knowledge of SolidWorks file structure and referencing.          
Knowledge of, or experience with Microsoft Windows operating system

 

Course Outline : Day 1

  • SolidWorks Enterprise PDM Concepts
    Fundamentals of Enterprise PDM
    SolidWorks Enterprise PDM overview, modules and components
  • SolidWorks Enterprise PDM User Interface
    Accessing and login SolidWorks Enterprise PDM via Windows Explorer
  • Document Creation and Check In
    Creation and checking in new folders and files
  • Versioning Files
    Creation of version for existing files in SolidWorks Enterprise PDM vault
    Obtaining latest versions, overwriting checked out versions and plotting history
  • Versioning CAD Files
    Check out files via SolidWorks
  • File References
    Creating and removing references
  • Searching
    Searching by names and location in SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
  • Workflow and Notification
    Changing file state in the workflow
  • Managing Local Cache and SolidWorks Add-in Options
    Managing the local cache to remove local copies
